A dream born in lockdown

Every great story begins with a dream — and ours started in 2020. During the challenging days of the COVID-19 lockdown, Joji and Asha, a young couple from Payyanamon, Konni, discovered their passion for baking. While staying at home, Asha began creating homemade cakes for family and friends.

Her delicious creations quickly became popular, earning the love and trust of people throughout the town.

Baking beyond borders

As life gradually returned to normal, Joji resumed his career in Dubai, where he had been working in the hospitality industry. In 2024, Asha joined him in Dubai and continued pursuing her passion for baking.

Her handcrafted cakes soon became a favourite among both the Indian and Arab communities, receiving overwhelming appreciation for their taste, quality, and creativity.

Home is where the heart is

Despite their success abroad, their hearts always belonged to their hometown. Inspired by their love for Payyanamon and a dream of serving their own community, they returned home to turn that dream into reality.

Cake Stories opens its doors

In June 2026, they proudly opened Cake Stories Bake & Café in Payyanamon, Konni. What began as a small home-baking journey has now become a welcoming café built on passion, quality, and heartfelt hospitality. The incredible support from the people of Payyanamon has made this journey even more special.

Today, Joji and Asha bring together their professional hospitality experience, certified food safety knowledge, and passion for baking to ensure every cake, pastry, and beverage is prepared with the highest standards of hygiene, quality, and care.
